This wine revives an ancient Alsace tradition that wines assembled from noble grape varieties were called "Gentil". Gentil "Hugel" allies the suave, spicy flavor of Gewurztraminer, the body of Pinot Gris, the finesse of Riesling, the grapiness of Muscat and the refreshing character of Sylvaner.

Dry and elegant wine, fine nose with mineral notes, citrus fruits and yellow lemon aromas. A beautiful length with salinity and a very nice freshness, well-balanced with a huge and exceptional terroir’s expression. A great wine to keep!!

One of the noblest of Alsace grapes, it produces a full viscous, richly fruity style, often with a lush aftertaste. Its great depth is balanced by the crisp acidity that gives structure and longevity. A slight smokiness, combined with underlying delicacy, is a typical trait. Superb with food, the Pinot Gris comes into its own with terrines, foie gras, smoked fish, fish in sauce, and white meats.

This wine is named for Frédéric Emile who became famous for providing a new guarantee of quality and authenticity for Trimbach in 1898.
